Color plays a much bigger role in influencing what we purchase than we think. Companies spend hundreds of thousands of dollars testing the colors of ads, banners, call-to-action-buttons, etc… and there’s a reason for that! HubSpot, for example, did a color test for its CTA button and found a red CTA button outperformed a standard green CTA button by over 21%. They increased their conversion rate without changing anything on that page except for that button. That is the power of color psychology in marketing.

What is Color Psychology?

Color psychology looks at how color influences behavior and decision making. Taking marketing as an example, colors marketers use impact the way individuals perceive a brand, product, campaign, etc. Good color marketing can be the rise or fall of a company!

Below are really simple infographics explaining each psychology of color. As you read through, you’ll start to see why certain brands have used certain colors. Take a look and learn about how each color influences buyers and consumer’s emotions.
